Eric and Lauren Huber have been serving in the Ukraine now for 10 years. They are both natives of Baltimore, and they each came to faith in Christ in high school through the ministry of Young Life. They have 3 children, Timothy (19), a student at Loyola College of Baltimore, Danielle (17), and Nathan (12).
Eric has served in a number of roles in Ukraine, as dean of students for the Evangelical Reformed Seminary of Ukraine, as team leader for the MTW mission team in Kiev, and most recently as the country director for MTW in Ukraine. He has been involved in church planting, discipleship, and leadership development and training. Most recently he served as the lead advisor to the formation of Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Ukraine, which has three independent churches and 7 church plants. This new denomination is an exciting and wonderful milestone in the life of the church in Ukraine. We praise God for his hand in this work.

If you haven’t formally met Bethany Seyler yet – you’re sure to have seen her around or listened to her sing, or tasted her cooking – she is a woman of many talents!
Bethany first came to the church through the college and careers Bible Study, which her brother Benji began attending while she was away at Frostburg State University. She graduated with honors in 2006 with a major in Recreation and Parks Management and a coaching minor. After graduation she began attending the Bible study and Sunday worship on a weekly basis. She also involved herself in the life and body of the church, joining the choir (hope you didn’t miss her solo in the last offertory!), volunteering to teach children’s church and organizing the church co-ed softball team (see accompanying article). At her first atten dance of the annual MAPC Fall Festival, she took first place in the soup competition for her (fabulous) Tomato Bisque. She has also been on three (yes, three) missions trips – two to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and last month, to Fairmont, West Virginia.
Bethany currently works for the Frederick County Department of Parks and Recreation. Cooking is one of her talents, and she has used it both cooking for church pot luck dinners, and also while she worked at the Mudd Puddle (a Frederick independent coffee house). She says that she really loved that job as she likes to build relationships while serving people. One of her ambitions is to volunteer at a soup kitchen in order to use the gifts God has given her. Photography is another interest – and she hopes to get more involved in using her camera as time permits.
Cooking, photography, sports, music, missions, service – Bethany uses every gift God has given her! |
